Pastor Wilson Nyakachewa
Pastor Wilson Nyakachewa, 57 years old, was born in Mt. Meru, Tanzania. He has studied in many places throughout Tanzania as well as 6 months at University of Copenhagen. He received his Bachelor of Divinity in 2007 and his Masters Degree of Theology in Gender and Health in 2015. Pr Wilson was ordained on November 13, 2003. He has served as a District Pastor for the UKD; Secretary of Christian Education, Youth, and Higher Learning; Principal of Tumaini Lutheran Bible School; General Secretary of the UKD; as well as multiple leadership positions within several church, school, and community organizations. He is currently the Assistant to the Bishop for the UKD. Pr. Wilson is married to Christina. They have 3 adult children, James, Nelson, and Miriam Esther. Their first born, Richard, passed away in 2019. Nelson has completed his diploma and is looking at further studies in architecture. Miriam Esther is in university.
Pastor Ezekiel Mwambungu
Pastor Ezekiel Mwambungu, 53 years old, was born in Kilombero Tanzania. He received his Diploma in Theology in 2001 and his Bachelors of Divinity in 2009. Pr. Ezekiel did a one year internship at Grace Lutheran in Wenatchee in 1999-2000. He was ordained on August 26, 2001 and has served as a Pastor in the ELCT-Ulanga Kilombero Diocese for 24 years. He has taught at the Tumaini Lutheran Bible School and served as the principal of that school. He has been the UKD Director of Christian Education, Youth, and Learning; and the Acting General Secretary twice. He currently serves as the Director for Planning and Development for the UKD and as the Chaplain of the Cathedral of the UKD. Pr. Ezekiel is married to Genrose Matimbwi and they will celebrate their 25th anniversary this December. Genrose is the Treasurer of the UKD. They have 3 children, Joyce, Nathan, and Joseph. Joyce is attending special vocational training, Nathan and Joseph are both students at the Strobelt Pre and Primary School, a school of the UKD.
