Liturgy and Life: Our deep participation in the life of God

All are invited to a Workshop offered by the Synod's Worship Team

9:00am - 4:00pm, Saturday, October 25, 2025

Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, Boise, Idaho

In worship, we gather around Word and Sacrament, guided by the rhythm of liturgy—a pattern that shapes our prayers and our praise. But liturgy doesn’t only shape our Sunday morning worship. It also shapes our lives, echoing in the joys and messiness of our daily encounters; the meals we share, the forgiveness we offer or withhold, the justice we seek, the failures we endure and the love we exchange.

What does the Kyrie have to do with the joys and struggles of our life? What does the Hymn of Praise have to do with the injustice of the world that weighs on us so heavily?  These are the kinds of questions we explore together using conversation, reflection, and personal storytelling. Making the connections between the liturgy and our lives, we form the habit of bringing our whole self to worship, thus inspiring a deeper experience of the liturgy and of our communal participation in the life of God.

Any and all are welcome to be a part of this faith-filled, thought-provoking workshop -- congregational teams, individuals, laity, choirs, worship leaders, clergy, worship participants, youth, and our more seasoned worshipers!
