EcoFaith Action Network

peace with creation

From September 1 to October 4, the ecumenical Christian family unites for a worldwide celebration of prayer and action to protect our common home. This “Season of Creation” is a special time when we celebrate God as Creator and acknowledge Creation as the divine continuing act that summons us as collaborators to love and care for the Earth. Our well-being is interwoven with the well-being of the Earth and all life that shares this home with us. The theme for 2025 is “Peace with Creation.”

The EcoFaith Action Network of the Northwest Intermountain Synod encourages each congregation to celebrate the Season of Creation in its worship services and other activities for September/October 2025 or at another designated time in the coming the year.

At 8:00 AM (PDT) on September 1, EcoFaith will premier a Season of Creation Prayer Service on its newly established YouTube Channel. The prayer service is suitable for use during worship, Sunday School, or personal devotion. Please subscribe and be ready to access the premier and other upcoming EcoFaith resources.

Resources are available at The Season of Creation website and Lutherans Restoring Creation website.

Augsburg Fortress’ Sunday and Seasons has a worship planning resource in the Library/Sundays and Seasons Resources/Seasonal Rites for Autumn, entitled “Marking Earth’s Seasons: Celebration and Lament in Song” as well as several Blessings for Animals and Pets.
