New Director for Consultation to Clergy

Welcome Laurin Vance

Rev, Laurin Vance

The Board of Directors is thrilled to announce that Pr. Laurin Vance is the new Executive Director of Consultation to Clergy.

Pastor Vance brings an impressive portfolio of walking with others in a difficult time. In addition to being a rostered pastor in the ELCA, Laurin is also a certified Conflict Mediation Facilitator.

Consultation to Clergy has been working as a therapeutic services agency and is now adding working alongside judicatory leaders to help defuse conflicted congregations. In addition to this work, Pastor Vance is available to advise, guide and accompany rostered persons through the twists and turns of ministry. CTC works with all rostered leaders, as well as their families. CTC continues to work with ELCA and LCMS ministry leaders in Alaska, Idaho, Oregon and Washington.

Prior to accepting a call to Consultation to Clergy, Laurin served congregations in both the Midwest and the West Coast. Most recently, he retired as pastor at Burlington Lutheran in Washington. While there, Laurin was instrumental in forming Family Promise of Skagit, a local non-profit that serves homeless children and their parent(s).

Pastor Vance succeeds Phil Streufert as Executive Director. Phil’s tenure concluded with his retirement on January 31, 2022. The board is grateful to Phil for his wonderful work and creative leadership in the dozen years of his tenure.

Laurin would love to connect by phone, online or in person. Please invite him to your cluster meeting, text study or for a congregational visit. He is also available for personal consult. He can be reached at 360-333-3649, or prlgvance@gmail.com.
